Grandma's Peach Cobbler

When I need a dessert in a pinch, I usually make one of two things- brownies or peach cobbler. I usually always have the ingredients on hand & it's easy. Here's my great grandma's peach cobbler recipe- I don't know if she made it up or got it from another source- either way it's cobblerlicious!

INGREDIENTS
2/3 cup milk
1 cup flour
1 cup sugar
1 stick butter
1 tsp. baking powder
1 can sliced peaches  (or fresh)
pinch salt
cinnamon & sugar (optional)
11 x 7 baking pan

DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Melt the stick of butter in the pan in the oven. Keep an eye on it. Meanwhile, mix together the dry ingredients (flour, sugar, baking powder, salt). Next, mix in the milk. Pour this mixture over the melted butter (do not stir).

melted butter with batter poured over
Drain the peaches. Spoon the peaches on top of the mixture. Sprinkle w/ cinnamon & sugar (optional)

peaches spooned on top of batter
w/ cinnamon & sugar sprinkles
Bake @ 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes. I bake mine at least 35-40 minutes because I like it a little crunchy in the corners :) The batter will rise up around the peaches as it bakes. Enjoy warm with some whipped cream or ice cream....

You may even break into song- Just a scoop full of ice cream helps the cobbler go down.... (well, I said you "may" )

*Note- if you want to use a 9 x 13 pan, I would double the recipe & use a large can of peaches.

Enjoy!
